New comment on "How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues?"

LinkedIn Groups

@Nathan,
Issues and risks;

Compatibily; whilst every effort is being made to permit Apple, Microsoft and linux based (google and android) software and applications to be based in the same cloud there are still one or two teething problems, which will be resolved later this year.

Firstly identify where your users are mostly to connect to the cloud from; are you completely office based or do you have many field agents using smart phones and tablets?

PDF is a good place to start for the exchange of documents. compatible with office and all mobile devices, a google+ account for a user even has built in cloud storage for individuals, so a document can be sent to user to be viewed changed and returned on the move using a mobile phone.

if you are using Microsoft outlook, ensure the appropriate connectors are installed to permit engage between office and google calendars.

If your documents or data are large, consider using a solution that allows large compression and secure transport; Adobe and Symantec amongst others have solutions for this to ensure that your network does not get choked.

I hope this helps, should you wish any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

yours truly
