Group: Cloud Computing, SaaS & Virtualization Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? All too often the description of cloud computing gets bogged down in the technical components and the solution architecture. These are clearly very important but for me, at the heart of the conundrum are the business benefits and freedom that cloud computing presents. The ability to work from anywhere, the option to buy only what is needed and therefore gain greater control on the IT spend, the extension of a PC's lifespan mulitplied across the user base, enhanced security and environmental benefits to boot. Cloud computing enables an organisation to have an IT infrastructure that is as fluid as there needs can can be. In the turbulent times we are in this has got to be a good thing. Posted by Glyn
