New comment on "How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues?"

I posted earlier with my CIO view, now posting with my Vendor view.

Adopting a Cloud Strategy as a CIO, is primarily about adopting a “competitively priced speed to market strategy for the business”. It’s no good for anyone in the business; or for a CIO to adopt a Cloud Strategy only to find the vendor is slower to react than the internal organization.

The three keys to providing a sustainable cloud model is for the vendor to be; (i) humble enough to listen to the client, (ii) nimble enough to meet the clients time line, and (iii) aggressive enough to drive internal process to deliver the promised TCO reductions to the Client.

Only, when we as a vendor can continuously deliver on these three benchmarks to every client, should we claim the right as a mature “Cloud Service Provider”.
