Group: Cloud Computing, SaaS & Virtualization Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? I don't think there is a "packaged answer" to Cloud Computing, as we are in effect discussing three (different) solutions: SaaS, PaaS & IaaS are fundamentally different solutions, with different drivers. While the Electricity example is the one that I use the most, I don't know of many organisations that need a test/dev electricity grid! Although they sometimes need multiple grids. I do like the desktop virtualisation presentation, as it uses terms that CFo's will understand like NPV and attempts to link a technology outcome to a business driver. Posted by Peter Prowse
