Too high a bit will cause sluggish performance. Working in security, that is one trade off I'm far too familiar with. Security and performance are on opposite sides of a scale. For one to be better, the other has to suffer. At least right now... Also, we use salesforce so I am familiar with their SaaS concepts. vCloud is IaaS if I'm not mistaken. And I agree, I don't see vCloud on the public side. It is really, really hard to secure it. My cloud initiative actually isn't with vCloud per-se, unless they can work out some things that I actually need, like 802.1q trunks to VMs and such. My goal is IaaS for the labs.
