Group: Cloud Computing, VMware, Virtualization and Enterprise 2.0 Group Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? "Cloud" got its name from the diagrams of 1980's telecomm where protocol converters moved packets from system to system and translated from source to destination among protocols. I am not sure how many contracts were pure "pay by the bit" deals. As I recall, leased lines were typically involved, but that may have just been my limited exposure. Anyone else want to weigh in ?
