Group: Cloud Computing, VMware, Virtualization and Enterprise 2.0 Group Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? You are not wrong. However, if someone asked you to define "transportation" and you replied "Transportation is moving cargo on trucks" you would also not be wrong .. just incomplete. What you have given are examples of Public SaaS (Software as a Service.) There are still Private and Hybrid Clouds, there is Infrastructure and Platform solutions which are not represented by Web-based email systems. I hate to sound like a broken record (not that anyone remembers them) but the NIST definition is pretty complete. Posted by Jan Klincewicz, MBA
