Group: Cloud Computing, VMware, Virtualization and Enterprise 2.0 Group Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? @Jay : Techies seem to like ironic, cynical humour. That pretty accurately describes Public Cloud computing viewed through the eyes of the admins whose jobs it replaces .. Of course, Cloud PROVIDERS have to all the same crap traditional IT people have always done (and more) in order for commoners to have simple interfaces through which to consume Cloud resources. Where it gets tricky is in PRIVATE clouds where the same organizations is both provider AND Consumer .. the burden just shifts to the IT grunts to come up with ways for the business Units to more easily consume (some would cynically say waste) compute, storage and network resources without having to understand the underlying technologies.
