@rick, taken from NIST "The Cloud Computing model "offers" the promise of massive cost savings combined with increased IT agility. "It is considered" [WHO BY?]critical that government and industry begin adoption of this technology in response to difficult economic constraints. However, cloud computing technology challenges many traditional approaches to datacenter and enterprise application design and management. Cloud computing is currently being used; however, security, interoperability, and portability are cited as major barriers to broader adoption. So, lets look at the operative words in that statement, "offers", "it is considered", challenges, security, interoperability and portability. So, Rick no joke, just realism, something you've obviously overlooked in your zeal for cloud, hey buddy dont get wet, clouds contain rain you know! btw, computing will always be a device accessing information over a network from another device, the cloud is just a version of that ideal.
