Group: Cloud Computing, VMware, Virtualization and Enterprise 2.0 Group Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? I would agree fully but the way that cloud has come to encompass all networking functions has made the definition a contradiction. I try not to get involved in the intricate details and try to focus on the definitive split that needs to be more pronounced in the buzz word cloud. Combining the same word to represent shared network computing resources, with network hosted services is dangerous to leveraging the technologies. Enterprises will always be slow to integrate off-site data retention and access could find that they shun the cloud computing technologies because of the generalization in the term cloud.
