Group: Cloud Computing, VMware, Virtualization and Enterprise 2.0 Group Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? lets say that no one has a clue as to what the cloud is! 37 different definitions on the last count! probably more by now My version of the cloud FWIW is the ability to access any data from any device anywhere and not being dependent on propriety systems in order to be able to access it, in other words true interoperability, not vendor dependent. And seeing how the IT industry has always had trouble being able to interoperate with each others systems and software I cant see "my" definition being implemented soon. Anything else is merely accessing stuff over the internet and currently its a race to the bottom. Posted by John Booth
