Group: Cloud Computing, VMware, Virtualization and Enterprise 2.0 Group Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? @Sasa : Please do not fixate on the method of payment (or confuse acquisition of physical depreciable assets from a Capital budget from pay-per-use.) . My question regarded whether prior to the concept of Cloud Computing if it was possible to acquire resources (compute, memory,storage, network etc.) for infinitely flexible periods of time as an expense. In plain terms, I am referring to the novel concept of ELASTICITY, which is a primary differentiator between Cloud computing and other models, which may appear similar, but were, in fact, much less flexible.
