Group: Cloud Computing, SaaS & Virtualization Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? Many people's explanations are not really abstract enough, in that they define Cloud Computing in terms of the specific benefit they see it providing. One very confusing terminology is this reference to "The Cloud" in the same way we refer to "The Internet", which I think is misleading because it is not one thing or place but rather a paradigm or methodology. Many of the metaphors referring to public hosting clouds are useful and accurate but don't fully take into account that a cloud can also be private and fully owned by the given organization.
