Group: Cloud Computing, VMware, Virtualization and Enterprise 2.0 Group Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? @Jerome: I was not talking about adoption by the ENTERPRISE .. I was talking about the POSTERS on this group, and how they describe Cloud Computing. In a large percentage of cases, there are citations of SaaS, Amazon AWS, Utility Computing (comparisons to water and electric utilities), Internet-based computing, pay-per-use, Exchange of CAPEX for OPEX, etc. Very few of these examples describe Private or Hybrid Clouds. In the real world, I see far greater adoption of Private and Hybrid type models. My comment really concerned the fact that when a description of Cloud computing is limited to describing the Public model only, that it is incomplete. Posted by Jan Klincewicz, MBA
