Group: Cloud Computing, VMware, Virtualization and Enterprise 2.0 Group Discussion: How do you explain cloud computing to your colleagues? @David: I am getting the distinct impression that the majority of posters here do not recognize any models of Cloud beside "Public" judging from their descriptions and examples. Early on (several years ago) I was skeptical about accepting the validity of Private and Hybrid versions, but recognizing that too many interested and powerful parties had too much to lose from a sudden and wide-scale movement to such a model, its adoption would be slowed, and Private and especially Hybrid Cloud would be the norm for at least a decade, and possibly longer. Certainly an ecosystem is evolving which supports encryption and multi-tenancy for all sorts of combinations in recognition of this inertia. Posted by Jan Klincewicz, MBA
